Feng Shui Basics

Feng Shui means “Wind” and “Water”.

Chi means “Energy”

Three basic Concepts of Feng Shui:

  • Safety
  • Clutter
  • Environmental Affirmations
Safety

  • Negative and unsafe objects we need to remove from our homes
  • Weapons and weapon like objects
  • Anything that registers as unsafe to the nervous system
  • Unfriendly furniture
  • Anything you can stub your toe, hit your head, bump into or injure yourself in anyway is considered unsafe
  • Beams register as heavy objects over our heads to our subconscious. We are working with things that affect the nervous system on a subtle level.
  • Ceiling fans
  • These effects may be subtle, but like water dripping on a stone, over time there is a hole where the stone once was. Because we spend so much time in our homes and workplaces, all of these accumulate.
Clutter
  • Do I love It?
  • Does it uplift me?
  • Is it useful?
  • Does it reflect who i am now in my life?
  • If it is broken, when am i going to fix it?
Environmental Affirmations
  • It reflects our conscious and unconscious beliefs about life and our selves.
  • What does your environment say about you?
  • Broken things drag your chi down
  • Unfinished projects may be sending a message of “you lazy person you never finish anything”
  • Unused exercise machines as “naggers” every time you walk by them sending negative messages
  • Furniture and objects from past relationships that invoke a negative memory should be moved out of your space and replaced with items that feed you in a positive way
Art
  • Art is extremely important and is taking up prime real estate on you walls or in your space
  • Negative are may be powerful and designed to invoke a strong reaction and message, but we cannot live with it in our homes.
